I am honored and exited to be the next Roughrider Area Career and Technical Center Director. My name is Ronda Schauer. I graduated from NDSU in 1999 with an Ag Education degree. My first teaching job was in McClusky in 2000. That summer I married Chris and we moved out to Oregon for three years where he pursued a PhD. in Ruminant Nutrition. While there, I did substitute teaching in K-12 as well as in a 2-room schoolhouse. We moved back to Hettinger, ND in 2003 with our son, Kaden. In the next five years, we added four girls to the family, Kaitlyn, Kelly, Kayla, and Kortney.

I continued to substitute teach at Hettinger Public school until 2015. I took the Praxis test for FACS (Family and Consumer Sciences) and taught that year as the FACS teacher. Since 2016, I have been teaching both Ag Education and FACS. I have enjoyed teaching two CTE (Career and Technical Education) Programs for the past six years as well as a rebuilt a strong FFA program. My passion is to help guide students, and now other instructors, to success. I am excited to see where RACTC will go in the future and look forward to watching student success along the way.
