What's Happening with RACTC
Job Shadow Opportunity
Four area students in Mrs. Schneider's classes had the opportunity to job shadow at the Dickinson hospital. the students were able to be in surgery, ER, ICU, OB, X-Ray, and lab. Students can learn first-hand what these professionals do. These opportunities give students a look at possible career paths. We are very grateful to these individuals who share their love for their profession and look to inspire the future generation of healthcare providers.

Safety On Wheels Project: Health Science 2B & Intro to Sports Medicine Students
The project was presented to my (Cournty Sadowsky) students by Carly Endres the ND Brain Injury Network Coordinator from UND and was intended for my students to learn about and then to teach area 3rd and 4th graders about helmet safety. March is Brain Injury Awareness month so my students had to research brain anatomy and physiology and then long and short-term effects that happen to people with a traumatic brain injury and present it to the elementary students. We had a total of 167 students broke up into groups and paired with HS students to do some hands-on activities including Play-Doh, Brain Trivia, Jello Brains to mimic our real brains (weight/size), card games, and last but not least a coloring contest for all students to participate for a chance to win a free helmet that will be decided by the NDBIN Coordinator and her staff at UND.
